About Us

Tennis Academy Perth

A high-quality coaching program based at Manning Tennis Club in Perth, Western Australia

Our Mission

Create an environment where players can develop, improve and enjoy tennis long term

We believe tennis is more than just hitting a ball. It's about building character, developing mental resilience, and creating lifelong skills both on and off the court.

Our Philosophy

Every player is unique. We focus on individual development rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, ensuring each player progresses at their own pace while being challenged appropriately.

We Develop Players Who Are:

Confident
Competitive
Resilient
Coachable
Passionate about tennis

These qualities form the foundation of successful tennis players and help them excel both in competition and throughout their tennis journey.

Our Standards

The Lighthouse
Standards

At Tennis Academy Perth we believe coaching is about more than just developing tennis skills. Our Lighthouse Standards guide players, parents and coaches towards excellence — on and off the court.

How We Coach

Our Coaching Approach

What makes Tennis Academy Perth different from traditional tennis coaching

Traditional Coaching

  • ✕Repetitive isolated drills
  • ✕Perfect technique before playing
  • ✕Focus on form over function
  • ✕Limited game-realistic practice

Our Approach

  • ✓Game-based learning situations
  • ✓Skills developed through match play
  • ✓Building tactical understanding
  • ✓Preparing players for competition

Why This Works Better

Traditional coaching can produce good stroke mechanics, but it doesn't always translate to match play. Our approach develops players who can think, adapt and perform under pressure — not just hit perfect strokes in practice. This creates confident, capable players who improve faster and enjoy the game more.
